Images of the First State's volunteer firefighters and their machines. With the exception of the City of Wilmington, Delaware residents are protected solely by Volunteer Fire-Rescue departments. It is a 300 year old tradition that is fast disappearing as more and more demands are placed on a dwindling volunteer force.
